The Dictator Movie Review

Sacha Baron Cohen never stop making movies , that is all I can say. It's been a few years but this was definitely worth the wait this movie is not for those who cannot take raunchy jokes. He touches in a comedic way on people from all walks of life and does not hold back in at all. This movie also stars Anna Farris and Ben Kingsley and they help to deliver so well. This movie is set in a fake country called Whadiya which is under the dictatorship of President Aladeen, who gets overthrown and works throughout the whole movie doing crazy antics in order to reclaim his throne. This movie is quite short but it has all of the perfect comedic timing. So with a running time of aprx. 1 hour and 23 mins. It is worth it for a good laugh if you're in a comedic mood.

Think Like a Man Movie Review

First things first Michael Ealy is so damn fine. Watching him for two hours alone was enough to get me into the movie- Think like a man. Now I'm only 23 years old and I read Steve Harvey's book "Act like a lady, Think like a Man " way before the movie came out. That's to tell you some crazy life experience I've had to read it at as such an early age. I was so happy to discover that he decided to make it into a movie. Who would've thought a comedian could give such excellent dating advice. I hate that many people referred to this movie as a "Black Movie " what does that even mean? Yes, the cast is predominantly African American but the issues brought up in this film can affect couples from all races and all walks of life. Okay, so we have an all star cast in this movie from the beginning a set of beautiful and handsome people all in on place. Kevin Hart was hilarious in this movie , he brought alot of comic relief at the right time. This movie can relate to single, married and divorced people. There is no one that could not benefit. Steve Harvey advises us in a very clever way of how to get into a relationship and also maintain it. This film is not a chick flick by no means and you will be laughing and engaged for the full two hours, You will see everything in this movie, the single girl trying to maintain her morals and keep a respectable relationship and also  a couple that cannot commit to marriage and chose to live a mundane life. Oh Yeah ! And those Mama's boys. I'm not saying that men shouldn't love their mama that is their first and number one love. However, eventually they do have to cut the umbilical cord and grow the hell up. Steve Harvey teaches not only young women but all sorts of couples on how to manouevre through a relationship. He wanted to open the eyes of women to stop making the same mistakes on a consistent basis. This is aprx. 2 hours and 2 mins of my life well spent so definitely check it out and you will not be disappointed.

The Avengers Movie Review

So I saw The Avengers last night and I would give it a 8/10 just because I am not really into comic books that much and I felt that having Spider Man in the movie would have enhanced it. It was actually my boyfriend that advised me that he was part of  The Avengers. Since it was set in NYC, you would have thought that we would have definitely saw Spider Man in there. There were some super heroes that didn't have many powers besides the fact that they could really beat up people well , however it was not super human. I grew up on comics through my brother I guess,  occasionally hearing him and his friends discuss the new latest book that would come out. I grew up in the 90's so by then , it was not as popular as video games were. But back to The Avengers, it will definitely keep you engaged with awesome 3D graphics, the story line was okay and the acting was good. I feel that the comedy from Robert Downey Jr. added well to the overall movie experience. It also features the beautiful Scarlett Johanson and Samuel L Jackson among many other talented actors. If you want to see a very action filled movie in 3D that is somewhat satisfying then this is for you. It didn't leave a lasting impact on me but was okay. It has grossed over 200 million dollars so far at the box office, so hey maybe I could be one of the very few that is just not as satisfied with it or maybe its best left to the die hard comic fans.

Daddy's Wedding

I never thought , that at the age of 58 my dad would remarry again. I figured after my parents divorced about 13 years ago he was through with that chapter of his life. I was definitely wrong. It's never too late to fall in love or find love and if his new wife makes him happy then he has my blessing . The only issue is the jealousy. Growing up I've always been my dad's princess , because I am his only daughter and sometimes this can cause a rift between me and my new step mother however , I supposed we will both get used to it in time lol. I can't imagine what their big wedding will be like next year. I even asked how many guests I was allowed to have , my step mother smirked and said one . I was like wow okay kinda harsh. Then my dad said as many as I want and then I felt alot better. Now I am Guyanese , but born and raised in Canada. My culture has influenced alot of how I act and how I like to celebrate parties. I do plan on adding some Caribbean flair to their typical American wedding and hope I will not step on any ones toes. The first small wedding this year went as good as it could have gone. A small wedding at the church in the pastors office and a petite banquet hall setting. I guess some people literally do have to wait all their lives to find someone , while there are others who marry really young. I guess what I learned is never to judge love it comes in all forms, shapes and sizes . It's not up to me to test it or to study it. It something , that you just leave alone and let things go as it may. Now that my dad's married off ... maybe time for my mom ... lol ... thinking ....

I met this artist the other recently and he is a very positive artist. There will be a podcast coming up on Ustream's Spitballin' with JT real soon. He is very down to earth and talked about his major hit right now "This is why we work ". His energy was completely positive and he just wants to send the message to his fans that they can work hard and party hard  at the same time. His music is not one specific genre you could call it club mixed with hip hop , kinda vibe.  This artist is definitely multi-talented he is highly educated and has a ton to entertainment world. Miss Dominican Republic loses chance to participate in Miss Universe due to Marriage

Reports surfaced recently that the winner for Miss Universe had been married in the past and therefore she will not be allowed to participate in this years upcoming competition. Miss Dominican Republic did admit that she was married but never lived with her husband or never had any kind of relationship with him it was something that happened when they are young. Now there has been alot of controversy over this matter later. Many people say that she should still be allowed to participate there is no reason that she should not be seen as a role model for this generation because she is married. This candidate has alot to offer in terms of intelligence and would make an excellent ambassador for the young women of today. However, many are also opposed to the idea . They said that the competition is MISS Universe and that suggests someone who is not married at all . It also directs the pageant back to the intended audience of young women.  Miss Universe is supposed to be a role model for all sorts of people and anyone can be a good role model in my opinion. I could see a single mother as Miss Universe because that is someone to me who has demonstrated strength and overcoming obstacles and I could also see a married woman has an awesome role model as well. Often married women are balancing their household kids , finances and relationships between their husband and friends. They can offer alot of life experience to the competition. But it is not my decision and every competition has rules and this candidate lied on her application which I do not agree with. So however they decide , I wish her the best of luck and hope that she still stands by her values and demonstrates leadership throughout her community for the upcoming women today.

Angry Boys

I first got into this show immediately after watching the first episode. I found it to be hilarious ... for Canadian viewer you can still catch this show on HBO on demand if you are interested.  Chris Liley is comical genius in this Australian mockumentry and playing as many roles as he did definitely keeps you constantly occupied. Liley plays twin brothers Nathan and Daniel Sims. These two are constantly playing witty pranks on each other often throwing crude comments at each other or giving each other the finger. This show is not for everyone it's for those who can handle crude comedy. Liley also plays a very strict and controlling Japanese mother who is obsessed with her son's empire and will stop at nothing to make him do what she wants to ensure that it continues to grow. He also plays Gran Sims , who is his grandmother and she runs a correctional facility for underage youth which features all kinds of characters in the facility. Gran Sims makes her  prisoners pajamas based on superheros for bed , has karaoke night and even buys them KFC talk about a prison experience. He also plays two celebrities the first being S.Mouse who is an African American Rapper from California trying to build his career that he has lost and Blake Oakfield a champion surfer who has had a tragic accident and cannot perform to his pre-accident abilities. He is always doing crazy antics with his friends even though he is married with children. They have done stuff like marking their territory at the beach similiar to how an animal would and again this is not for the faint hearted . If you're looking for a crude humour show and would like at least one season of mindless entertainment, you have nothing to lose !
